Exactly David what you are so succinctly explaining and express here. In a minimum amount of word's. We only see what we want to see The rest our subconscious mind's simply choose rather to block out or ignore

That's very true Christopher in reality our subconscious takes care of the bigger picture, our eyes just see what's in front of us, and it can be an mistaken illusion or delusion, cheers David

To our own, and sometimes an innocent party's detriment, see my comment to Lasaad below, the mirror here is not flawed, but still tells us what we want to here or see, the flaws are hidden within us, we manipulate the mirror with our biased blindness, cheers David

True, David, our attention is continually attracted to the outer elements of our personality. We also conceal our hidden character defects since they bother us.

Yes indeed Lasaad, we can be blinded by what we want to see, not necessarily what's actually there, I purposely added a few layers to this one, the mirror could be on the wall of an interrogation room, in a police station the flaws are the ones looking through the mirror, blinded by corruption or pressure to solve a case, will wear down and draw out a confession, from an innocent party, cheers David
