The Importance of Listening

when two people who speak the same language spend an eternity cross-talking at one another about one another over one another to have the last word, it's as if both parties are speaking two different languages; much is lost in translation. it's only when they talk WITH one another that they come to an understanding. So true, Edward. Amazing how many times we are thinking about what we are going to say next without hearing what was said last. Sometimes we answer a question that was never asked. Excellent penning.

Thank you very much, Milt:-) "Amazing how many times we are thinking about what we are going to say next without hearing what was said last." Exactly! This is a classic example of not listening. To be honest, I've been guilty of it in my younger years, lol. I've gotten much better at listening as an adult, I'm proud to say!
