The human condition
We chose to forget who we are,
that whilst in trance, soul may ascend
but perhaps we’ve drifted afar,
feeding fears we wish to defend.
Having signed up for life on earth,
we chose to forget who we are,
to which end we have taken birth
but now our soul’s blackened like tar.
Battle weary, bearing life’s scar,
in staid silence we are free though
we chose to forget who we are
but at end of days get to know.
Let’s get to the roots, find the cause;
though our soul shines like a bright star,
we fear love’s glow simply because
we chose to forget who we are.
