The Hidden Sanctuary
The Hidden Sanctuary
The hammering clouds were raining down upon my head
while I trod into this finest glory of Nature's heart
I chose not comforting cover but race onward instead
seeking deep hidden place of which I shall never part
A few hundred steps more I find the bubbling stream
with long winding path running by its snaking side
This paradise is real and not some mad raving dream
Nature's greatest retreat my hidden sanctuary to hide
Pouring rain stops as I walk into this old shady glen
perhaps a given sign of the magic of the ancient trees
Stranger still often happens to lives of mortal men
seeking the paradise they cry out for in desperate pleas
The towering behemoths that guard the paradise flowers
tell me to sit and find the beauty they so kindly give
Wile away in worthy thought the soft refreshing hours
to embrace one of the blessings of we that love to live

Note: Poem is written based upon a spot deep in the woods that truly has
some kind of magic healing power. I should know, its healed me several times.
