The Green Tears
. I have a right, a right to thrive
You have a right, a right to live
All life matter, we all matter
I need a space, you have a place
We were created for each other
I thrive on your expelled breath
My life depends on you
I was committed to your care
You need my airy presence
Which I loyally present
Without uttering a word
Never asking for more
I was your silent companion
Sheltering you from rays ,until
Technology like a charming mistress
Blowed your mind away
Your inventions became my depletion
Your activities my distress
I plead to maintain my place
Knowing that I served, giving all I have
Sweet scent, sweet songs , succulent fruit
Fresh air, beautiful flowers I offered
But you needed more than I can offer
My Whispers drowned by the noise
Echoed by the wind, unheeded by you
As the cruel axe bears down on me
Like an unfeeling invader
Mindless and merciless
Scattering all my feathered guest
As I bowed to the pains,
Thrust deeper by each stroke
Only the birds understood
Homeless and confused,
Helpless and voiceless,
tweeting endlessly
Green life matters,
A tree life matters.
