The Greatest Pursuit
There was a Christian man that I once knew
I learned from him about what's best to pursue
He had served people well and made many a sacrifice
As he moved closer to the end of his earthly life
These are the words he said to me in his terminal state
After doing his best and sharing with many his Christian faith
"Before I am laid in my grave to rest
I make this my one request
Think not this to be my final nest
For this I absolutely do protest
More than 50 years ago I was compelled to confess
That Jesus was the Christ and son of God no less
I have since pursued this my heavenly quest
So let it be clear that I sincerely detest
Any concept that this grave is My new address
May it be known that in eternal treasures I did invest
That I have achieved the true meaning of success
And shared The Christ from North to south, from east to west
