The Great British Crumpet
THE GREAT BRITISH CRUMPET
The colder weather is setting in, like it, or lump it
Time for that great old fashioned British crumpet
Where it is toasted until it is a nice golden brown
Slapped upon with fresh butter until holes drown
There’s nothing more comforting than a crumpet
It’s such food pleasure I thought I would pump it
Love mine with a poached egg and cheese on top
Toast the cheese until crispy it sure makes it pop
A little bit of coarse black pepper finishes it all off
And with a knife and fork into it, I enjoyable scoff
