THE GREAT BRITISH CRUMPET The colder weather is setting in, like it, or lump it Time for that great old fashioned British crumpet Where it is toasted until it is a nice golden brown Slapped upon with fresh butter until holes drown There’s nothing more comforting than a crumpet It’s such food pleasure I thought I would pump it Love mine with a poached egg and cheese on top Toast the cheese until crispy it sure makes it pop A little bit of coarse black pepper finishes it all off And with a knife and fork into it, I enjoyable scoff Indiana Shaw . . . “Slurp fantastic” . . . ; )
