The Government Gets Richer and Richer

The government applauds themselves. They spout their praises Saying how they will do everything for our good They vote in all kinds of great things for themselves They are supposed to be representing us but they aren't. The government is made up of rich folks Who will get richer because once in, they vote for tax breaks For the rich. The rest of us are going into debt to pay the extra taxes we now have to cough up They were supposed to protect us but they didn't. The government is a closed society Because if you do not have money And know people with a bunch of money And have the ability to raise more money To campaign and to stay in the government You do not have a prayer or a song of getting in They profess to have our best interest at heart. Laugh. Laugh. The government says they will vote our way Just tell them what we want And we believe it So we vote Many realizing Our votes do not mean squat They are supposed to have our backs but they don't. The government sends the poor counties to war The government takes care of themselves for life The government does not have the medical plans we do The government says it is working for us The government is working for the NRA The government is a testimony To how nice it must be To be rich And get Richer.
