The Good Samaritan

(This is a fictional poem) I got mugged and I was beten, stabbed and left to die. I couldn't get any help from the people who walked by. As I laid there dying, things looked pretty grim. When people walked past, they said "the hell with him." I'm not sure how many people walked past, I think about seven or eight. How human beings can be so callous is hard for me to contemplate. I thought I'd never see my family again. But suddenly I was saved by a good samaritan. I nearly bled to death after the mugger stabbed me with his knife. But the good samaritan rushed me to the hospital and saved my life. It was just like that story in the Bible. I owe everything to that man who is wonderful.
