The God of Broken Hearts

If God’s real, it seems clear He means hearts to be broken, He didn’t consult His creation at all! You will note there’s no mention in “Biblical Fall,” It was punishment garnered, or displeasure’s token, Though people conspire to avoid it like poison And look for protection by hiding in reason. Well, then why do I say that His purpose seems certain? If men find this heinous, what draws God to pain, Unless ALL of our feelings bless us in the main? As a man "in God’s image," is death final curtain? Remember you moaning for power to change things, But how, if not broken, can man grok repairings? As I learn I’m His child let me honor Him only, My dreams be congruent with His Son and Heir, Know when frightened I always remain in His care, Find a place in MY heart I can share with the lonely, Cry tears with Creation for those who don’t know Him, Help lift up slain Lamb, singing “Grace” as God’s anthem.
