The Gift of You All

I have some things I would like to say
Many of you have known me for a couple of years
You have watched me struggle, change and grow
I pretty much share everything about myself
The guilt I carried when I first got here
Was such a burden
I didn’t know how people would take me at first
You have got to admit I’m about as open and honest
As a person can be about themselves
For I wanted to be free of who I was
And I knew the truth would set me free
What I didn’t know is how people would feel about someone like me
And to be honest I expected to be ask to leave
And I must admit as I sit here tonight
That I was surprised at the open acceptance I was given
The love and understanding compassion that I was given
Truly shows what wonderful people that all of you are
I’m so blessed that the Lord led me here
I don’t think I would have made it without all of you
You encouraged me to see the things in myself
That I would have never seen on my own
I was struggling with forgiveness when I got here
And all of you not only forgave me you loved me
And showed me true respect
For the man I was so desperately trying to be
You motivated me to learn
About myself, poetry, life, love and the Lord
Tonight I was talking with my wife
And we were talking about all of you
And she ask me to do her a favor
She asked me to thank all of you for seeing the good in me
And for helping her teach me
To see the good in myself
She asked me to thank you for helping me grow
By giving me examples of the good that resides with-in
And teaching me how to be the man I am for her
There is nothing that my wife ask of me that I won’t do
And I am very proud to do this for her
Because next to the Lord, my wife and our family
You guys sure do hold your place in my heart
We just want to thank you
For the gift of you all

You made me cry! No matter how difficult my days may seem--I will never again feel sorry for myself; I will never again contemplate giving up; and I will never again feel like I am alone! You are my inspiration, Mr. Jordon!!! Your talent for touching the deepest part of all of us is incredible and I do believe that God has a very important job for you--you just had to go through some trials to see it-- God bless you and your wife!

Michael, for it was taught that forgiveness can only be done with open arms and with those arms open one can then be embraced. You are blessed. This write is thanks, yes, but is a testament to everyone that witnesses truth, light, love and respect. Stay stong and always love. Michael

Poetry Soup is a great place....not only can you communicate with hundreds of others, but you can let it 'all hang out.' ...Maybe half the battle is to know you are loved, and the people who contribute shower this abundantly in their comments. I've seldom seen a negative comment. Good write, Mike. Love, daver

Well, cannot compete with these wonderful comments that speak volumes for YOU Michael. You get back what you give, and there is no measure to what you have given us all. Cannot explain it words this time, only through the feeling in my heart and soul. Have respected your honesty and beauty from day one, it has turned into love, and this has only grown and continues to. Never change, for I feel you have become who you are supposed to be. Thank YOU. With love always, Shar xoxo

Michael, we never know the journey through life that awaits us...the choices we may or may not make, the people we will meet, and some of them, grow to love...life is a mystery, we just have to keep God the center, and all else will fall into place...your friendship is so precious to me, and I thank God for friends like you...You are awesome....give your family a big hug from me....Always, Christy

Michael its not what we have done for you . Its what you have done for us. Im amazed how you take the time day after day to say something nice about someone's poem that you dont even know. You take time from your precious family to do that. Michael the appostle Paul killed many christians he was a murderer but he was one of the greatest men in the bible look at Moses he was a murderer he killed an Egyptian look how God used him. God takes the worst in us and brings out the best and Michael ...

Micheal it is an honor to have you on the soup. We all have needs and you have expressed yourself with openness and honesty as to where you were in life and how far you have come. We have a lot of good people in this world and you are a bright shining star. You faced adversities and have conquered. You have a family who love you and the Lord to guide you. God Bless You Phyl
