The Gift Of Spring
It may begin with dulcet songs of birds
one early morning as you rise and shine;
you glance upon your calendar...those words,
'first day of spring', confirm the lovely sign.
The resurrection now from winter's sleep
will move full swing as buds are nudged to wake
and paint that pale chiffon-green haze to sweep
away the ash...our lovely views, remake.
Fresh hope rebirths and stirs in every heart
as springtime flowers lace a rolling field,
or gushing brooks from melted snow impart
a feeling of new life...refreshed and healed.
This mystical rebirth that gifts our spring...
death's transformation to new life does bring.
