The Gift

God thought and thought and then decided
A small gift for all his children
To soothe a hurt, dry a tear
To lift a little heart
As cold bewitches
The sweet reward
A big spoon
Ice Cream
Yeah!

I am feeling the urge to go back and read poetry from earlier writing of my favorite poets today and this is the one I opened of yours Barbara. I truly enjoyed reading it today and it is one of your best. Love, Carol

I'm afraid I don't know what a "figt" is (line #2)... and there is a space needed after the word soothe in Line #3 ... love the idea behind this write, Barbara and sorry for the comment but I just don't know ... smile ... Congratulations on having your writing selected to be featured this week at the Soup!
