Pure fiction on my part as we don't have a Bishop on the Island as our old one retired last year... but I read of a gay Bishop in the UK who recently married his boyfriend and the thought of a rainbow coloured dog collar sprang to mind:-) hugs Jan xx

We don't know if our Bishops are gay or straight because they live with a vow of chastity. Most can tell though...Who am I to judge another human being. Great Lim Jan

Yes this is true, you can always tell Christian values by how one acts not how one preaches, God loves us all. Even the slanderers. LOL

It's a shame there is such bigotry in the world Arthur - what people get up to in their private life shouldn't reflect on their job but sadly it does:-( hugs jan xx

We don't have a bishop here anymore he retired and not replaced yet but I read about a gay bishop marrying his boyfriend in the Uk and the backlash - shame in this day and age we can't live and let live:-) hugs jan xx

Good for him. And good for you to write about it. And even better: in a humorous way. Homophobia never ceases to astound me: why do people care whom another person loves? (Alas, I am in the rural Midwest of the US, not a very enlightened area for sure.)

Thanks for commenting Agnes I was worried people would find my poem offensive - I read of a gay bishop who married his boyfriend in the UK and that inspired the poem... it is pure poetic licence about him being on our Island as we do not currently have a Bishop:-) hugs Jan xx

Sadly there are people who are homopobic and to read of a gay vicar they could find very offensive :-( I have some lovely gay friends I introduced one to soup:-) hugs jan xx

Thanks for being th first to comment ... I guess some may find the theme offensive Darren but I would rather have a gay vicar than one who abuses kids which sadly still goes on in the church today:-( We don't even have a bishop on our Island at the moment - he retired last year so the poem is total fiction for me:-) Hugs jan xx
