Waking up, I sense
something new, in the present tense.
I'm not what I was, or what I became.
I'd been a scapegoat for the blame,
and I felt guilt and I felt shame.
Who played, on me, this game?
I want to know the name
of the gaslighter.
Was it those closest to me,
my family who falsely drew me?
They're no longer with me - at any rate.
It was I who would cooperate,
and into myself, their story, integrate;
but, that is not to be my fate,
today, I choose my soul, to liberate
from the gaslighter.
