The First One
You're still looking mighty good
For being older than a century
It was nice to come and see you
It's always good with you and me
You sure have changed a lot these years
Maybe put on just a little weight
But then I have too of course
So it's okay
Your bountiful descendants
Have spread all through this land
Signing autographs around the world
Even Elvis was a fan
Rode out to the Mississippi
With one of your progeny
The trees passed beneath the moonlight
Me and him in harmony
Don't know exactly what you're made of
Some parts of you don't make sense
But I'm sure that you're the first one
'Cause I've seen the evidence
Hard to know how you got started
You're a bit of mystery
But it's still nice to come and see you
It's always good with you and me
