The First Day of Spring

O listen the schenaries of both worlds, The heavens have again come to our Earth For even the forbidden creatures have join us to rejoice All to celebrate the praises of this Holy Spring On the first of the spring, the whole horizon is filled with happiness The birds start to sing their melodies, a robin singing with slight naughtiness You can again see the leaves, auburn and golden in dim sun rays Giving all objects a lilac hue and shining responsive to moon's gaze Today, I have seen the beauty of this marvelous tree Which is neither of West nor of East, In Spring, it shines just like the light of a niche With in it is a lamp, and the lamp is inside the glass The glass as if it is a white glistening star Blessed by the oil of the heavens itself, bright just like a illuminated night Which will glow even if touched by fire, light shall be upon light

The Persians/Iranians call the first day of spring Nowruz or Norooz. The entire winter we plan and on the first day of spring we celebrate and dance and we do not stop for 13 days... Thank you for reminding me. Best of luck...

You have some very interesting images of spring, Faraz. Your poem would have ranked higher, but "join" in line three should have been "joined" and in the last verse "With in" should have been written as one word "Within." There were some wonderful entries in this category. Congratulations on your win! Best wishes, Carolyn
