The Fate of a Crimson Rose

A budding beauty, Like flowers in bloom. So fragrant shines, To light up the room. With velvet petals, And supple stems. Young pistil's splendor, Are wonderous gems. As a crimson rose, Oh maiden fair. Will flourish long, With love and care. But the die is cast, No grand illusion. At last will suffer, A withered conclusion.

Thanks Hat, what a cool name. I was just trying to express the fact that youth is fleeting and everyone will meet the same fate one day. Now that I'm in my 60s, that fact is becoming extremely evident. Thanks for the positive feedback.
