The Dream
The Dream
Can you regret a dream
That never did exist
You question your self esteem
Cause all rational emotions have been dismissed
You wish to sleep in one more hour
So you don't need to see the disappointment
It's that feeling causing you to cower
Hoping for the astonishment
It's so hard to remain quiet
When you have so much to say
But you remain compassionate
Cause of the feelings you don't want to betray
Sometimes the stars have more to show
Light-years away sometimes they speak more as well
And show you still have a life to take slow
Mysteries to still foretell
Sometimes it's an irrational fear
That's causing you to stop
But the past you hold so dear
It's the future you should swap
Stars will not glow forever
And our lives will one day end
What if in the end we never
Got to see the dream actually transcend
