The Doomsday Clock 2 Min To Midnight

2 minutes to midnight - A nuclear weapon of mass destruction has been set off coming down from the dark heavens heading a collision to spark on part of the world spreading obstructions. Direct destruction throughout cities by the nuclear blasts; there isn't enough warning to evacuate. There isn't anything we can do. "Lord, grant us the strength to die!" We sit huddled together embracing whispering, I love you to each other. That's the part that stings most; undercover of the dark knowing what we were facing. We never know how long we have in life; we need peace between countries free from strife. 2/10/2018 Poetry Contest: The doomsday clock 2 minutes to midnight' Sponsored By: Emile Pinet

Eve, your verse reminds me of the 1960's nuclear scare with Russia and Cuba. Brilliant write. Despite the pains, and fears, if we trust and (not be shaken) even on our death beds. Trust and believe and not waver. Everything gonna be alright. It's not about the physical dead, but the possible 2nd death. Fear not man he can only take us to the grave. God eternal. Thanks for your creativity. James

You did this topic in the way I think we would expect, something horrific like this. It is so scary to think we can all be wiped out in an instant and you got that across quite well with your sonnet, Eve.

An expressive poem which reflects the present world situation, Eve. These weapons of mass destruction can be contro-productive. An itchy mad finger is enough to set disaster in motion! Hugs // paul

A real frightening thought, I dont think people realise how serious things are. Always live for today, if tomorrow comes it's a bonus. Regards Tom
