'The Don't Give Up On Me Blues"
Oh, hey! Woke up this mornin'
Just trying to write me a poem.
Yes, I say it was the wee hours of the mornin,
but done nothin' comin' into my empty head!
So I crawled me under those warm covers and
got me back into my old bed!
But feelin' this was in vain, I got me to the kitchen
to make some hot coffee.
Yes, I say I walked me to that cold kitchen to get
strong coffee.
But gotta tell ya, the awful truth.baby!
Like a dang fool, I spilled the dang coffee all over me.
Now the floor it's be lookin' like the River Styx!
I am sadly thinking, that maybe me and this poetry
Just ain't no good mix.
Now, ain't that the truth?
Oh, yaaaa!
