The donkey
Has become a symbol
Of it's stubborn ways
Not one of the brightest
But yet it does not stray
It keeps it's head centered and down
And does not look side to side
For it does not want to lose it's path
It carried our saviour
To where the ones
God sent Him
He would go pray
It carries the cross
On It's back everyday
For it's embedded in it's coat
Praise this donkey
That we should learn from
One of the foolish breeds
Has shown us daily who we need
To be pulled out of the weeds
I will keep it's ways in my walk
For then the Lord will
Use my tongue to talk
It pleases God this way
To take the foolish
The world can not see
To be the one that
Teaches the scholars
What they have learned
From mans wisdom
Is not who He wants you to be
If you want peace and to be free
