The Donkey

The donkey
Has become a symbol
Of it's stubborn ways.
Not one of the brightest
But yet it does not stray.
It keeps it's head centered and down
And does not look side to side,
For it does not want to lose it's path,
In the guidance of the lighted trail.
While, awaiting Jesus to come,
Joy, would flow through the smile,
For, God has raised him for this purpose.
The One that would not scatter while, others flee.
It carries the cross
On It's back everyday
For it's embedded in it's coat
Praise this donkey
That we should learn from
One, of the foolish breeds,
Has shown us daily who we need,
To be pulled out of the weeds
I will keep it's ways in my walk
For then the Lord will
Use my tongue to talk
It pleases God this way
To take the foolish
The world can not see
To be the one that
Teaches the scholars
What they have learned
From mans wisdom
Is not who He wants you to be
If you want peace and to be free

'It pleases God this way To take the foolish'...... So rightly said! He chose the lowly! I am reminded of the poem of G.K. Chesterton's 'The Donkey' that I taught to my undergraduate students. Beautiful Stephan.

Thanks all glory to God, when y'all pray today don't forget to thank your not a turkey, : ) Jesus probably felt like turkey on Thanksgiving on the run, but who knew if you eat His flesh then you will inherit life and drink from His cup

"It pleases God this way To take the foolish The world can not see"..... What a sublime thought. We must learn not to underrate anybody. Those who are foolish in the eyes of man can teach the world many things and are more precious and valued by God. Great poem. Into my FAVE.
