The Demolisher

It's not just my heart that's broken It's not just what was spoken. You destroyed our love, and trust Was this anything but lust? Were you ever really there for me? Did you ever really care for me? I'll never be alive again, How could I ever rise again? If there was a God, there isn't now So smile, kid, and take a bow Everything that wasn't broken Everything that I'd accomplished Every good thing inside me Stripped, and pretty, new, and polished Fades to gray, then dies away What I'd built up, you've now demolished. I never broke your heart. So why were you so scared? I'm sure you tell yourself all day That I never even cared. But if you take a look at me And see the love inside my eyes You'll see how much I loved you, I just hope you know how hard I tried.
