The Deluge

Initially, a gentle teardrop falling from the heavens, quickening its pace, a cleansing shower emerges and washes away the filth accumulated since the last. Fresh black earth, soft and dry quickly becomes a quagmire threatening to engulf all it touches. As the shower intensifies, it becomes a wall of water trying to suffocate all things. Gently rolling hills are quickly drowned under. Trickling streams fill to fast and awash over their boundaries, taking trees, homes, and lives alike. It takes everything in its' path and slowly deposits it along its' way leaving a trail of destruction. The waters' strength is deceptive from afar. Yet, up close, the roar can be felt from within. Receding slowly, new life reawakens formed in the cometary of what once was.
