The Days of Spring

The days of spring are here. Now more and more I’ll go outside to feel sun’s glow. There also will appear new birds to bring me cheer. And, oh, the grass to mow! In just one month I’ll see my roses bloom anew, and in my front yard too - so wonderful to me - with lovely gowns, each tree will make a grand debut. From end of March through June - sweet nights come with spring’s moon! March 23, 2021

Beautiful hexasonneta-a-la-Andrea! Perhaps PS should include this form as a new style! Congrats of the inevitable win too, Andrea!

My husband asked me what the weather was like outside. He had his jacket in hand. I told him it was nice. He opened the door and threw his jacket back inside. So beautiful the “lovely gowns” and “days of Spring” Congratulations, Andrea!

What a fabulous poem in its own right, but to manage the 6 syllable count throughout each line is genius, love your grand debut stanza, a big contender, cheers David

Loved this Andrea. Spring is everyone's favorite but here, we don't enjoy much spring... summer already started..you EXCEL in your own form...beautiful imagery...I tried my luck writing for this contest and keeping it to six syllables was a bit hard for me... Hugs.. ~ Ani

Wonderful description of spring. What a pity my government has ruined our landscapes with irresponsible large buildings on a tiny island.

Nothing makes us want to go outside more than a beautiful spring day! Don't think our roses will bloom here in April, but they are always welcome when they arrive. Best wishes for a big win in Emile's fun contest! Hugs, Carolyn

Ah, Andrea! As we approach spring here in northern Kentucky, I am so excited and also know we have two brief winters to go through (so my farmer friend says). It is, however, poems like this one that keeps me smiling in anticipation. I loved your poem and see it near the top of the list!
