The Day That Pain Came To Stay
I can almost pinpoint the hour, minute and second
when I realised that you don’t feel for me
as I do for you…
The needles and pins that pierced my heart
leave scars that run deep –
hurt saturates my soul…
The anger has gone,
but instead I am drowning in indifference –
absence of emotion and feeling drags me down, yet it is also my lifeboat…
Your comprehension of the situation is perplexing;
excuses and justifications overflow,
but all you have to do is be honest –
with me, with yourself…
I trusted you with all that I am
and this was the repayment plan you devised –
hollow acts of niceties and supposed caring
that eroded the very foundation of what we had…
What we had…
