Novel .. Pearl? Rice fields ... peasants ... birth ... toil - these are the fragments in my head trying to recall a book I read decades ago that your haiku took me to. I think it was rather famous - oh, darn my memory. I really enjoyed where your mind went, but who knows how long I'll remember it? (Laughing) Poetry hugs ... CayCay
