The Crumbs

Her wedding vows were simple, heartfelt and concise… “If love is the bread of life,” she said, “I promise all my love with every slice. A smile crossed his face and tears welled in his eyes. He could not hide his happiness… his contentment… his surprise. For he knew in their life together… in their future… whatever comes… He would have been just as happy… living off the crumbs.

Beautiful, Jim! I could not have thought of anything this profound, having been married so young. I was just in awe of the vows coming out of my mouth. We have been married for 42 years now. Congratulations on POTD!

Golly, Jim, hugs and congratulations! Your poem touched my heart so very much.))) Thank you. You reminded me of my husband and I! We were married in City Hall,and we started out with crumbs. We never had much. But we lived off of love and our commitment. My husband died shortly after he turned 40!
