The Contest

The contest

Visit to soup site,
many contests there I find,
Unable to cope up,
with short closing of time,

Thoughts hover into,'
gray matter of my mind,
Pulling them together,
swiftly well in time,

Winning in the contest,
puts smiles on my face,
Poem that took me long,
still didn't do well last time,

My favourite write,
created with deep passion,
Not honoured in contest,
was written in my blood,

Only if the judge could feel,
the pain hidden in my chest,
Be liberal with more marks,
I could do well in the contest!

The wins are great and the loses are hard, but to keep writing that makes a successful poet. Nice win on this one my friend :)

I agree, time passes so quickly. I have about a half dozen poems written for contests that never got posted because the contest closed. If we are lucky enough our muse and time dance together to the same tune. Congratulations on your wonderful winning entry with first place!

Written from the heart and mind, this appeals to me as a fellow writer. I edit a lot and sometimes miss the deadline because of it. I've learned to post it and edit online. A great win with this one, Dr. Upma, now on to the next.

Yes, Dr. Sharma. Sometimes we pull out thoughts from deep within our souls and then our poem is shunned by the judges. It rips your heart apart.
