The Climate Yo-Yo

I’m a trilobite, I took my leave Nature had a shocker up its sleeve In hot water Air gets shorter Things got heated and I couldn’t breathe I’m a stegosaur and I’m long dead I got a chill in my poor old head My world cooled down The leaves turned brown I breathed my last in a cold cold bed I’m a mammoth and I used to swarm I lived in hope of a winter storm The snow that lay Melted away I lost my life when it got too warm I’m a human and I’ve had my fill Of blame and shame for every ill But humans, I’m sure Killed no stegosaur Our climate changes and always will

LOL Terry. Once again you've managed to say what we all think and you do so with flair! Great limericks. Humans are so quick to blame themselves for everything, everywhere, in every century (even if not theirs). Personally, I don't think I caused anything that happened a hundred years ago.

My sentiments entirely. Thanks, Linda.

We just have to go with the flow and just accept things, this whole climate thingy is probably just a cycle. I wonder who will take over from us, the mother of all viruses will probably take us out. Tom

It makes me laugh, Tom. They’ve only kept records for 100 years, so we could be in a 150 year cycle or a million year cycle and they wouldn’t know. But isn’t it strange that in any climate or environmental emergency… the answer is always “Tax, tax and more tax”? Of course, once we’ve solved ‘warming’ we’ll get ‘cooling’ and they’ll tax us all over again. Terry

Yeah Terry, it’s so easy to blame humanity on the whole world’s problems, even though we are speeding it up, but the earth has been ripping itself asunder also bombarded with asteroids since time began, look what happened only a couple of weeks ago in Turkey and Syria, ok dodgy builders played their part, but you get what I mean, so much is completely beyond our control, great Limericks, cheers David

Thanks, David. Aside from playing a mean pinball, only a deaf, dumb and blind man would refute climate change. But, us being to blame is a bit of a stretch, when it’s happened a thousand times before. besides… when are they gonna ban volcanoes? ;-) Terry

"Our climate changes and always will" that is one undisputable fact! Terry. This was a very easy and good read.

Thanks, Daniel. Some expert on the radio today, claimed that once we hit net zero and the climate stops warming… it could be 200 to 1000 years before we see a difference. So don’t be expecting a tax rebate any time soon. Terry

Thanks, Paula. I don’t deny climate change but I do dispute that it’s due to my Ford Transit. ;-) Terry
