The Chromatic Christmas Conundrum

Daniel Henry Rodgers

"In the grandeur and schema of existence words are our threads, colors our palette, and meaning our masterpiece. For complexity is not the enemy of understanding but the intricate pathway through which wisdom reveals itself." Daniel Henry Rodgers

----------------------------

In antediluvian times, so pluviophilian Red and gold adorned the grandiloquent pavilion. With circumlocution's mellifluous elocution Yellow frankincense sparked a yuletide revolution. Colors of Christmas idiosyncratic and bright Symptomatic of joy a quintessential sight! Black's defenestration led to white's sequestration Blue myrrh, an epiphenomenon of celestial creation. The floccinaucinihilipilification of green An obfuscation of nature's loquacious sheen! Colors of Christmas idiosyncratic and bright Symptomatic of joy a quintessential sight! Orange juxtaposition a kakistocracy of hue Violet and indigo a perspicacious view. Silver's mellifluous tone, never superfluous In this chromatic prolegomenon, so wondrous! Colors of Christmas idiosyncratic and bright Symptomatic of joy a quintessential sight! Nonplussed by colors we're rediscussed This verisimilitude leaves us all nonplussed. Recalcitrant shades concomitant with glee A serendipitous fortuitous Christmas spree! Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia aside. (Fear not these long words let your aichmophobia subside!) With tintinnabulation and confabulation We revel in this spectrum's elucidation! Colors of Christmas idiosyncratic and bright Symptomatic of joy a quintessential sight! From soliloquent red to audacious gold Our multitude of colors both new and old. This Christmas palette so efficacious Renders our celebration truly vivacious. Yet beyond these hues lies a gift profound A child is born; in Him true light is found. For unto us a child is born Unto us a son is given And his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6)

Hi Daniel, this amazing poem with it's brilliant words and the way you weave them to present a breathtaking poem, is truly wonderful, idiosyncratic, tintinnabulation, confabulation, verismillitude . Wow! Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given'. This chromatic Christmas gem has an eternal Christmas message 'For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given' and 'in Him true light is found.' What a Christmas blessing to you and your family dear friend, and to all mankind. Blessings, Jennifer.

Dear Sara, LOL! I wanted this one to feature the complexities of Christmas and perhaps life at least from each person's perspective. However, the message for salvation is simple and clear, the Christ Child. Merry Christmas, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Whimsy world of color. I had sesquipedalophobia, at one time. Now I take pleasure in long words. Very creative and expensive with time, you must have spent a fortune of time. Red and gold and green will be the eternal colors of Christmas. Beautiful last stanza. Blessings all year around, Daniel. Enjoyed!

Dear Anaya, Your message made me chuckle—sesquipedalophobia! I’m so glad you’ve conquered it . LOL! You’re absolutely right, this poem did cost me a small fortune of time, but it was worth every second to bring that whimsical world of Christmas colors to life. They hold so much warmth and joy. Hello Michael, Thank you for coming and leaving such wonderful comments. My overall intention was to show the complexity of what we make of life but really it is the simple message of your Lord that makes the complexity null and void. Merry Christmas, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis is the longest word known. It gives me a phobia. Yet I concentrated on the part about the birth of Christ and I found that part to be moralistic edifying.

Dear Victor, I am always grateful to see your wonderful comments. It is amazing how many words there are in the dictionary that we just never or rarely used. Yes, Our Lords, Birth is the most important part of Christmas. Merry Christmas My Dear Friend, Daniel

Daniel, I truly appreciate the work you put into this. Lucky we don't have pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis so we can recite this out loud! As I was reading your poem, I was thinking how complex thoughts and creative thinking really are in terms of the number of neurons firing and how ideas come together. It's more than a light bulb appearing in a comic strip. There is some simplicity and a great feeling that comes together when we learn to summarize like you do at the poem's end! You did something that creates joy on multiple levels and encourages us all to take a deep breath and think about language a bit more deeply. That's not a bad thing at all. Like your poem, life sometimes seems difficult to decipher as we're living it. In retrospect after careful consideration, many things boil down and become easier to understand. Epiphanies bring smiles!

Hello Duke, I had to laugh at your mention of pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis—thankfully, my poem wasn’t quite that challenging to pronounce! LOL! But honestly, your thoughtful reflections gave me a deep sense of gratitude. You truly captured the essence of what I hoped to convey. When we step back, reflect, and let those epiphanies light up the way, there’s so much beauty to be found. Thank you for such an encouraging and insightful response. Happy Holidays, My Friend, Daniel

My Dear Daniel, Whew! you really have made your audience work for this- lol - Thank you for sharing this intricate classic, celebrated with it's rich festive colourfulness that accentuates the deeper meaning of Christmas. Your perspicacious quote got my attention at first '...but the intricate pathway through which wisdom reveals itself.' Indeed our messages come veiled through the quantum field - we only have to listen and interpret the meaningful signs. Now about your poem in which the final stanza focuses on the deeper meaning of Christmas and the new born child. Your verbosity and playful use of long words accentuates colourfulness of Christmas and the symbolic significance while the repetition it seems, conveys the sense of celebration, joy and the festive atmosphere. Here's wishing you and your family a Very Merry and Loquacious Christmas - Hugs Maria Ps your command of the Dictionary and the use of bombastic rhetoric and the effort you have put into this is awe-inspiring.

Dear Maria, Whew! Your reply had me grinning ear to ear—thank you for such a thoughtful and delightfully loquacious response! It feels like you’ve truly "walked the intricate pathway" with me, unraveling the layers of meaning I poured into the poem. Wishing you and yours a Christmas as merry and meaningful as your words—and perhaps even more loquacious than mine! Merry Christmas My Dear Friend, Daniel

Dear Paige, I really appreciate that you took the effort on this one, and I wanted to show that Christmas in our culture is made to be overly complex and very much about the materialistic things of life, but the ultimate message of Christmas is simple and complete. Merry Christmas, My Dear Friend, Daniel
