The Christmas Party
Smoothing down my velvety grey skirt
My fancy cream blouse
I feel so clean and smart
A warm glow shines
From within my heart
Rosy cheeks and sweaty palms
Too much running
And fun to be had
Scooped up high in safe arms
Love the feeling of being carried by dad
Those rough diamonds
Warm smiles and lacquer in hair
if I'm to be getting upto mischief
Nothing can get past their watchful stare
The joyful music
Lingers on in the air
Faces so happy
An hour or two no worries or cares
Sitting in rows we wait for jelly and ice-cream
Excitement brewing, my mind it paces
Is it really him, the mystery
The awe on our faces
What will we get the anticipation
It's my turn now, I'm up
Without hesitation
Love every minute of this celebration
