The Children Of Gaza

A child remembers growing up --
always hungry; hearing that the
moon is made of cheese. On cloudy
nights, sent to bed without dinner.

For some, sadly, imagination is the
only way of surviving...till the body
atrophies -- and the soul deserts its
dream.

Words fail me humanity..Fails on the whole some in comitting these acts as in Syria as in the Congo, yet there are so many who dis-agree.' Its past time for The majority, to be concerned about (What might be lost?) While we loose Too much in real time.'

Hi Joe; heartbreaking what is going on. At my age, I vote, praying for competent leadership; wife sends money to humanitarian organizations hoping that the good they claim to do is actually being done. I ran a local non-profit for many years. Helping the needy in my community. Never took a salary. Cost me money. Not looking for praise, but firsthand participation, when one can, is best. This is not something everyone can do. Praying can work miracles. That I have also seen firsthand. Blessings my friend.

Most difficult on the children. Gaza, Israel, Ukraine -- Trump is trying to be a Peace-maker -- but there is only so much he can do. If it would help, I am in favor of using US Troops. May only make matters worse though. No easy answers.

So poignant.... ! Down the centuries suffering through hostility and poverty has been part of life. When it comes to the suffering of innocent children, it is heartbreaking! Powerfully composed, dear Joe.

As with all wars, started by, so called adults, innocent children, the most vulnerable and least capable of defending themselves, are also victims. Those who survive will have long memories...and, instead of eliminating terrorism, they may become the next generation of terrorists. On and on. Has to be a better way.

This is a very sad poem, but all so true. I wish the moon was really made of cheese and that it came down on the hungry every now and then, wouldn't it be nice, we living in luxury can afford creative thought, much harder on those who have so little, my prayer becomes a heart in times as these, thanks for this !

Such atrocities take place day by day. Sometimes they are even killed for the fun of it. Great descriptive poem even if sad. Well done Joe.

Hi Victor; were it not for a biased Press, down playing violence in Major Democrat run cities in the USA, Like Las Angeles, Chicago and New York, the world would be shocked at the death toll on a typical weekend.
