The Captain
The Captain dallies in the hall
waiting for the enemy to fall.
His knights cannot heed the call
which is sent to no one at all.
The castle is filled with a pall,
as the goblins come over the wall.
The Captain sees in another way
that the enemy will certainly fail.
Still, the maidens sit and wail,
with nothing to do and faces pale.
In come the ships with brighter sails
to rescue the castle without fail.
I wonder how the Captain knew
his allies would ever be true.
Take the fight with bitter doom.
The enemy falls to a blaring tune.
