The Cancer of Evil

A terrible crime has happened...
  a young girl is brutally murdered,
  her father is near destroyed,
  torn to ribbons,
  he is in a great darkness,
  swimming deeper into malice,
  there is nothing there but pain

A suspect is found
  with the weight of hard evidence,
  he is the killer,
  the devil,
  a monster of monsters;
  the world knows who he is....

The trial is set,
  the verdict comes in;
  on a technical premise ---
  he is found innocent
  and is to be set free;

In a fit of rage of the verdict ---
  the father unleashes a gun in the court room,
  kills the man...
  the monster is dead...
  but the father shall pay,
  he is now guilty of murder;

Then in a turn of unspeakable findings ---
  in aghast for the world,
  under the weight of greater, undeniable
  evidence,
  the suspect who was shot by the father ---
  was actually very much innocent;

The wake of evil...
  a little girl brutally murdered...
  an innocent man shot to death right in the courts...
  a father faces long-term imprisonment;
  and the real killer ---
  smiles upon reading the newspaper,
  sardonically, alive,
  free as the wind,
  vanishes in the darkness...

*** This is the aim of evil; to harm and cause further
 evil, this is why Christ has asked us to forgive;
it is not the object in which we strike out against
that condemns us --- but the action***

Great story telling my friend with a purpose. This evil world demands we turn a blind-eye to evil but we must not do so. Speaking out against evil, is one of the methods we must take.

Keith this is great story telling and a very important message, first, we are innocent until proven guilty, sadly most are given trial by media these days.. two, never do anything rash when angry.. powerful pen..

Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord. Romans 12:19 Your poems really brings this message home. Sad tale.

My point exactly Becca, Romans 12:17 is very pertinent too; never payback evil with evil, the result can only be evil; the practice of not using this is for collective society and used to enforce good conduct among the people. Thanks for your visit and insight Becca;-)
