The Butterfly and the Rose
Like a beautiful butterfly fluttering through life without a worry
Alighting among the wildflower passing in a flurry
hungary at heart for the nectar of something new
A free spirit in seek of love, fresh as the mornings dew
When upon the twilight of dawns fading hour
This butterfly happened upon a new type of flower
It's sweet earthly aroma, enticed her with warmth
As it's soft crimson petals, decieved her it's worth
Fooled by the illusion that this flower adorn
Little did she know, beneith this rose lay a thorn
This butterfly danced with this rose within bloom
To a melody so sweet, composed of destine doom
As she spread her wings in joy of this find
Like the Devil with a dagger, a thorn pierced her side
Startled from the pain of truth gripping her heart
A second unseen thorn gouged her wing and ripped it apart
Blinded by the beauty of the rose's masquerade
A beautiful butterfly marred, never to fly graceful another day...
