The Book
Looking At Pictures

At God’s judgment gallery,
Life’s portrait will reveal.
All our comings, and goings,
And if for Him, we had zeal.
There’ll be the times we gave,
And held something back;
During our times of plenty,
Toward those who had lack;
Things that we left undone,
Though God had so bidden;
And that picture of things,
Which we thought was hidden.
Our time spent in prayer,
And those times found failing.
Our days spent not calm,
When at another we were railing.
Of opportunities to witness,
That God sent our way.
And equally those times,
When we had nothing to say;
There’ll be snapshots aplenty,
Of sharp words we’ve said.
Even negatives of thoughts,
That ran through our head.
Shown also will be the times,
We had the fat of the land.
And from within this plenty,
Withheld from other’s our hand.
The times we held others,
In such utter disdain.
And those stories repeated,
When we knew to refrain;
There’ll be pictures of times,
When there were jobs to be done.
When the Devil convinced us,
That we weren’t the one;
These things are just samples,
Of what determines our fate.
Only Gods grace and mercy,
Will let us pass heavens gate.
