The Blue Danube

The stage was lit like a purple sea.
And I, in a soft cloud of toule, so dazzling
white and bright.
Clutched the velvet curtain, my young
girl's heart pounding like a drum
Waiting for my soloist dance cue..
Breathing a sigh of relief when it did!

In purple satin toe shoes, I made my
my grand, yet terrified entrance.
And bowed in loving recognition of
my audience!
Large clusters of violets with velvet ribbons
cascading, had framed my face.

Then, I gracefully rose in youthful elegance.
With the sensation, I was almost flying.
Eighty years, those purple shoes do still
remain here.
Life's moments, magically reflected in
sentimental yet joyful, crystalline tears.

Hello Panagiota, You must have been nervous to go onto the stage to perform. I think you did well. Hugs. /Darlene/ xxx

Inceed it is frightening…my heart was pounding in my chest! I was afraid I eould not do my best. I think one of my relatives, placed a bouquet of roses in my arms with red roses when the recital was over. Made me feel very special. I never lost my love of being on stage. Years later I was a stand up comedienne and also perfomed in Improv theater at Second Cityin Chicago. Loved that. I have no fear of speaking in public. Largest group was 300! Merci,, Pangie xx.my comments are forever long. I love communication. Would love to have my own podcast. Lol

Hi John, dear friend across the pond! How great to see you again! It s a sunny day in Ca. and almost 11 am. Good memories are food for our souls. Yes? Add to that knowing our limitations when we are older. I am not who I was physically, five years ago, when I wrote far more and commented more. I am glad to be alive.I learned gratitude is the only way to fly. So, thank you for being in my life snd replying. Merci. Pangie xx

Michael Wish you had been there at this moment of elegance for a young Pangie! I think I sryed to dance witk lessons at age seven…the Blue Danube was at age twelve. I really was nervous that day. This paved the way for mu love of performing. Nothing like entertaining a crowd. I moved on decades later to work at Second City in Improv.and then a stand up comedienne in Chicago and San Francisco. Fun! Metci, Pangie xx

It kills me that I cannot,. I was one who could never sit when music was playing' and, love all kinds of dance! And the men that come with dancing! I am a terrible flirt, too. Hugs, Pangie.
