The Blind Beggar--Version 2

THE BLIND BEGGAR Just an old, blind beggar standing by the way, Something though was different for him on that day. He heard the commotion from the coming crowd, He asked what was happening, why they were so loud. “Jesus Christ is walking down this street today; You are just a beggar, go now on your way!” He cried all the louder for he really knew He was someone special and what He could do. Jesus heard the beggar, stopped there to inquire, “What do you need from Me? What is your desire?” “I just want Your mercy, and I want my sight; I know You can do it with Your power and might.” Jesus then said to him, “I will touch you now And your blindness lifted from your weary brow.” Then the beggar’s eyes were open wide And he followed Jesus closely by His side. I was like that beggar, blind and in my sin, Till one day I pleaded for Christ to come in. He heard my loud crying, lifted me that day To a life with meaning and a brand new way. Though I may still struggle with some things today, Jesus is still listening every time I pray. “Lord, please give me mercy! Lord, I need You now!” And He comes to help me with His words some how. Just like that blind beggar, I have hope today That He’s there with mercy when I humbly pray.
