The Big Guns

"The Big Guns"
A woman goes into war with the matrimony of Life and Death a wound left empty a gash pushing up daisies where bleeding seeds don’t bloom no more So love puts the big guns in her hands, bullets loaded from the mind hell bent on breaking the walls caught in the sticky web of that black lettered Perdition Naked I came from my mother’s womb And naked I shall return what’s given is taken away the loss irretrievable opens a new road home Gangster all the way On the run with the Big Guns Misery be gone Love’s a racketeering assassin cutting losses, risking what remains on a final heist to be won “Sometimes Losers are Winners,” She grinned “You are holding the Big Gun” Hands on the wheel Silver Lady is driving Blue Sky his head turned, smiling towards the burning Sun An alternative beginning long way to the end. First, Some adventure, First, Some Fun. (LadyLabyrinth / 2020)

Isn't it amazing what happens when you turn middle aged torture into a romp of fun. Go vote - as ALL Americans must at this time, hard as the choice given you is...perhaps there should be a Woman at the helm of America. This vote you have over there at present is extremely important, it is not only for America, the choice determines the course of the rest of the world and its future. Scary times indeed. One will try to grab whatever fun and joy one can during these days.

I think your write 'Is God a Woman' would have been a far better choice but it has to be a man choosing these POTDs..coz your Big Gun title and that gorgeous red skirt going gangsta was made the day's hit! You had me from the beginning all the way to her grin then I got kinda lost after that :)) PS gangly congrats to you... going to explore H.D by the way...first one I could not really find fault with and ended up learning so much...thanks for that :)

I think you will love H.D. As you seem to write many poems with the OCEAN in your mind. There is a commonality. She was a very interesting character as well. Enjoy. x

I'm channelling my inner hybrid marriage What-Fresh-Hell-Is-This-Dot P and Bukowski...a match made on Purgatory Road. I write many of my poems with the Women in mind first, for that is where they should always be. It would still not surprise me that God is a Mother (Woman).

My friend, that nightmare is over. I learned a lesson from that tragic event. Stay away from any banshee, and place the high moral character, over that of glamorous and hot, sexy beauty. Place heart and soul as the most important factors that will lead to a long-term and loving relationship. " he that truly learns from life's pains oft profits beyond measure."

It's not that flash. Yours was much better, believe me. Thank you Lindley. As always your ally and strong friend. You must never EVER again allow a banshee to burn those words of yours. x

In my long life, I have found that women are very oft far stronger than men in many ways and even think deeper to the point of having an understanding of us that baffles our minds and if seen by us casts us into a deep and verified state of fear. Some of us eventually see this strength and respect its power! Your poem speaks that and so much more. A fav..

There is LIFE to be lived...after all is said and done. Women are built to withstand and bare the greatest pain in life, sometimes that will result in death, and perhaps if not death, a great loss of some incomprehensible proportion/s - but mostly, there is a strength that is inherently congenital to deliver beauty through something more substantial than looks and coquettish wiles. Women have the greatest capacity to turn their weaknesses into strength, and for the ones who cannot see that in themselves, it is up to the other women who are aware of their own strength, to support and stand with them, to show them they have that in them, that strength. Women are the greatest survivors. The Truth of all that is, that even when they have left this Earth, they leave their strength in their lineage. There are good men out there as well. But...as Kipling would tout, and he was spot on, "the female of the species is much stronger than the male".

The greatest people of strength, the survivors, men and women alike, will always find a way to turn their weakness into strength, to learn from their greatest and smallest falls, how to rise and they will ultimately use their strength to face forward and move towards the Sun.

these boots were made for walkin'...it's amazing what one will do to get a laugh in this joint, at least a paltry smile, using a little bit of originality. Obs better than 'same old same old'. Bukowski poem links below brilliant...now they are well worth the read.
