The Beginning of the End

THE BEGINNING OF THE END My straight castle walls crumbling, The tall towers rounded down. Plastic bag blown - tumbling, Half-sunk, soon to drown. Empty beach and a waiting tide: As if a disaster was imminent, Eroding structures of pride Thought of as permanent. Remnant ice-cream wrappers half-buried, Child’s laughter echoes there In the storm of autumn carried On a breeze not yet cold, but in the air.

Ah yes, the season ends on a sad note. Love the last two line to sum up this beauty.
