Thanksgiving Day

The turkey is cooked,
Ham will be done soon.
All the family has gathered,
Nibbling since noon.
Kitchen is full,
Sauces are simmering.
Guests feel at home,
Insisting on helping.
Variety of foods
In Mother's best dishes.
Now to say grace,
Give thanks and best wishes.

Do it all over
Again next year.
You have to be thankful for family so dear.

To formulate an acrostic is difficult to do, but to also make it rhyme gives it a whole added dimension. You have written this one quite well.

You had me laughing when you said it would all be done again "next year." A lot of work goes into preparing for this holiday -- probably second only to Christmas in time invested for preparation. Enjoyed your acrostic a great deal, Francine, and wish you success in Dane Ann's contest. Love, Carolyn
