Thankless Devotion
THANKLESS DEVOTION
Whirling around Saturn – an empty voyage -
Always aimed at the curve
Of the immense bejewelled orb,
But never reaching her.
Tomorrow is an uncertain few hours away,
And sunrise is a fickle time
For the distant sun
Flickering dimly between her rings.
Galilieo was the first
To understand the loneliness
Of being locked to a beautiful
But unfeeling mistress.

** Use binoculars to watch the planet Saturn or the repetitive orbits of the
four major satellites of Jupiter. A beautiful sight.
