Thank You God

Thank you God for giving me another year on Earth,
For giving us Your only son we celebrate His birth.
Christmas Season's over, but it is not at an end,
He's always here to walk with us and be the best of friends.
Thank You for my good life here. I should not want for more.
You've given me, more than enough, and greed I do deplore.
I have a roof above my head, a warm and welcome home,
Food upon the table, and a bed not straw but foam.
For my age, I have good health, and all the parts still work,
Family and friends I have, I'm sure not by some quirk.
I have a wife, she's my best friend, supplied I'm sure by You,
For our many years together, I thank You for them too.
You've given me a family, they have provided happy days.
My child, and her two children, never cease me to amaze.
They make me proud most every day, they really do astound,
Another reason, to thank You Lord, for having me around.
Don't know what's in store for me, in the next and coming years,
But I know You are here with me to quiet any fears.
To walk with me, and talk with me, and offer me Your hand,
And when I get confused sometimes, to help me understand.
I am always thankful for all You've given me.
You pick me up, and carry me, through my stupidity
I know I would not be here, without having You along,
You've guided me to do what's right and show me what is wrong.
I could go for pages, to give You thanks for what You've done.
But I guess I'll let You go now, for I'm not the only one
Who needs Your help, and loving care, and support along the way,
To give them health and happiness and guidance when they stray
While You're helping others, pass this thought along for me.
I wish them health and happiness and much prosperity.
Give them lives of satisfaction, and, if it's half You've given me,
They will be twice as satisfied, as they have the right to be.
