Thalia-Muse of Comedy
Oh, Thalia-muse of comedy…
If only you could make me smile
A joke might not come so easily
But humor’s seen in most every style.
Could I tempt you with some old slapstick?
Perhaps slip on a banana peel?
A sign on the back might do the trick
A pie in the face might make you squeal.
Could be a joke, I’ll give it a go
You must tell it first with a straight face
Building to the punch line it will grow
Then explode, frown gone without a trace.
Life can be funny, don’t you agree?
Thanks to Thalia-muse of comedy.
