I wake with a smile in my heart,
for Friday's my favorite day.
When the weekend is set to start,
I wake with a smile in my heart.
Even if my plans fall apart,
I am eager to get away.
I wake with a smile in my heart,
for Friday's my favorite day.
I am eager to get away,
for it means two days without work.
Though some may be content to stay,
I am eager to get away.
My smile transforms into a smirk,
right around quitting time Friday.
I am eager to get away,

Right around quitting time Friday,
I feel good from the inside out.
Like recess, it is time to play,
right around quitting time Friday.
I don't smile much on a Monday,
of that, there can be little doubt.
