Tempest Wind
Thoughts linger, not fading away.
Evoking memories I choose not to share.
Within shadows of my mind they stay,
quietly slipping in when most unaware.
What once was, now to forget.
The past survived the years.
Trapped within a tangled net.
It comes, all else disappears.
What will come with tomorrow,
when darkness refuses to fade?
Do I relive yesterday's sorrow,
that I have tried so long to evade?
Thoughts like tempest winds swirling.
A storm within, one out at sea.
Blocking them, my mind is whirling.
They must not take what is left of me.
The storm ends, no more raging tides.
The wind, now quiet, barely a sound
The turmoil within subsides.
I cling to what peace I have found.
