Teenage

“Go all the way”, the name of the game More popularity points to gain Ignore conscience, ignite the flame Reap rewards of fortune and fame I’ve reached the top, can’t complain Follow my lead, you’ll be the same An envied life until fate came Skewed my aim, drove me insane Young father with no-one to blame Please turn back the hands of time Emotions harbored, can’t be shared Contributors make them hard to bear Head held high, nonchalant glare Glowing prospect, fading flair Soul shadowed from society’s stare New life growing, scarred, ensnared HIV positive, truth or dare Tetchily unfair, blissfully unaware Lifetime of ridicule, must prepare Before we lose our minds
