Tears

Tears well up in their eyes, They fall upon the hollow ground and echo into the empty expanse of their world, If only it was water, Dripping like pure silver and quenching their endless thirst, Wetting the forever parched land. Everything around them is dry, Even the sky holds no moisture, Just dust which surrounds, engulfs, Chokes these humble and dying people, Starvation is their life, Dehydration their death. Help them - do something, anything, Create the rain, Cook the food, Fill their empty bellies, Let them know that their not alone, Give them warmth and cling on, Create justice Cook their dreams and let them boil over, Light a simple spark of hope and watch it burn in their eyes, Save them from natures crual humour, Let their dignity be, Let them live without the constant threat of death hanging over their beautiful souls, and they will thrive.
