Tanka Very Much

TANKA VERY MUCH

saw a bloody face
up in that leaf-bare old tree
a face no body
hatchet man at work must be
loud belch monster picks his teeth

look at that weird moon
like a pumpkin in the sky
black eyes nose and mouth
i laugh at the illusion
a pile of white seeds

halloween the spooks
i’m sad because it’s over
pumpkin sputters out
racing moon with angry clouds
“moo hah! who said it’s over?”

Enjoyed reading your creative work..Way to go ..If for a contest, it should be way up there at the top of list..Thanks for the visit..My mother learned to make those custards, cobblers, pecan pies, and much much more..She was one of the best cooks even when there was very little to cook..I don't know how she did it but she did..Sara

Just love the magic of your pen Daver. All you need now is a friend's name and this will do well in the Halloween Contest. I know they are not important but it would be inspiring for so many poets to be exposed to your poetry.

Thanks, Maurice, but my eyes are so bad I have to use a glass to read everything. Time on the computer is limited. Love, daver
